Man Murders "English Spy" Girlfriend

Man Murders "English Spy" Girlfriend
Jail cell. The Russian Life File

In the early hours of March 13, 2026,, a St. Petersburg resident allegedly murdered his girlfriend, thinking she was an English spy. The 30-year-old man was under the influence of drugs at the time.

According to law enforcement, the man walked into a police station, confessing his girlfriend's dead body was in his apartment on Gladyshevsky Prospekt. When authorities arrived at the crime scene, they discovered the body of the 29-year-old victim in a pool of blood. A knife was sticking out of her neck. Authorities also found a decapitated pigeon in the home.

According to Mediazona, the killer told authorities that he killed his girlfriend due to his sense of patriotism. It remains unclear why the man thought his girlfriend was an English spy. After killing his partner, the man allegedly ran out of the building naked. He displayed signs of drug use.

The investigation committee opened a case for murder against the Gladyshevsky Prospekt man. The detainee is currently in a psychiatric hospital.
