A tour agency director in Tyumen has been arrested for cheating tourists out of millions of rubles. Director and owner of Lubyava Tour Agency Svetlana Plyasunova stole four million rubles from over 30 people by offering resort tours that never happened.

Once it was time for the trip, the director was out of touch and the office was closed. When she could be reached, Plyasunova told tourists that the tours couldn’t be organized because of temporary financial troubles. Some affected tourists only found out that their trip was cancelled days before the trip was scheduled to start, when they went to gather tickets and documents from the agency’s office.

It appears that the money actually went to pay off Plyasunova’s debts. The owner has been charged with fraud.
