Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak

DMITRY MAMIN-SIBIRYAK (1852-1912) was a Russian author best known for his stories and sketches set in the Urals, as well as for his novel The Privalov Fortune (1883). The children’s story in issue 16 of Chtenia is one of a series that Mamin-Sibiryak originally wrote for his daughter and later collected as Tales for Alyona (Alyonushkiny skazki, 1894-1896).
