Uchites 10: Anna Akhmatova


The unit is based on Amedeo Modigliani’s famous drawing of Russian poet Anna Akhmatova. The unit consists of three parts. The first part includes a short biography of the poet and reading comprehension questions. The second part is based on the drawing itself and Akhmatova’s memoirs about Modigliani. Vocabulary development and comprehension exercises accompany the text. The third part includes two glossed poems by Akhmatova, with exercises. The material can be used with students who have achieved intermediate-low level of proficiency, as well as heritage students of Russian. The unit can be easily adapted for individual study.
