Khrushchev Err
To the Editors:
James Reston, the New York Times correspondent who interviewed Nikita Khrushchev in October 1957, was not the Moscow correspondent for the Times as stated in Tamara Eidelman’s “Russian Calendar” (September/October 2007). Reston was based in Washington, DC.

Children of the Gulag
I am grateful to Deborah Hoffman for her fine mini-antholo- gy, Children of the Gulag, and to Russian Life for publishing it. I was especially moved by Maria Solom- nik’s story. I was also very glad to see the extract from Mikhail Nikolaev’s memoir. My only regret is that you failed to mention that there are some other extracts from this fine memoir available in English, in an issue of Glas (volume
16) devoted to the theme of child- hood.
Yours,
Robert Chandler

We have heard from many readers that they found Children of the Gulag to be a particularly moving story. To order a copy of Glas 16, or any Glas books, visit Northwestern University Press:

Back Issue FAQ
To the Editors
I have subscribed to Russian Life for quite a few years and have saved all my back issues. Now I am finding that I am running out of storage space and would like to find some- one interested in purchasing them.
If there is an interest, I can tell you exactly how many I have.

We have reprinted this letter anony- mously, because it was not sent to us as a Letter to the Editor. But, because it is a query we get frequently, we felt it worth answering here.
First, for readers interested in acquiring back issues, Russian Life sells all of those still in stock via its website, phone of mail order line. For a current listing of available issues, see the inside back cover of the magazine.
For readers who wish to pass on old issues to others, our first suggestion is to inquire at your local library. Often they will have an interest in full sets of mag- azine back issues.
You can also try a local university, college or high school that teaches Russian. A fairly exhaustive list of such schools (by state) can be found on our website, under the listing for our Education Patrons Program.
Finally, you might try offering your back issues on Ebay or Craigslist. If you do that, we would suggest offering them in full-year sets.
Russian Life is a publication of a 30-year-young, award-winning publishing house that creates a bimonthly magazine, books, maps, and other products for Russophiles the world over.
