Michelle Berdy, a part- or full-time resident of Moscow since 1978, is the
author of a popular weekly column called "The Word's Worth" in The Moscow
Times. Following careers in documentary film and health communication, she
currently writes on culture, current events and various aspects of
intercultural communication for the Russian and English-language press. Her
collection of columns, The Russian Word's Worth, was published in 2010. In
addition, she has co-authored a Russian-English dictionary and been the lead
or sole writer of four guidebooks to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Russia. She
speaks on intercultural relations to Russian and American audiences and
conducts master classes in communication and translation.
