WHAT'S NEW

Greetings and welcome to the newest feature from your favorite magazine, Russian Life! The Russian Culture Guide (http://www.russianlife.com/culture.cfm) is your on-line source for feature articles, links to credible sites on the Internet and book/gift recommendations.

The site is divided into several topical Departments. You will find these departments listed down the left hand side of every page. Each contains annotated links to articles and off-site links.

The Russian Culture Guide will be anything but unchanging. The homepage will be updated weekly and new articles, links and product suggestions added on a continual basis. Bookmark our homepage and be sure to visit often!

Now, I should introduce myself. My name is Linda DeLaine and I am the Editor of the On-line Russian Culture Guide site. From December 1997 till September 2001, I was the Russian Culture guide for About.com. In September, About revamped their taxonomy and all of the international culture sites were taken off the service. While this may have been disappointing, I am delighted to have found a new home with Russian Life!

I welcome your emails. If you have a question, suggestion, need help finding something specific on the Internet or just want to say hello, you may contact me at culture@russianlife.com.

PARTING THOUGHTS

Russia is in the news a great deal lately. The conflict in Afghanistan, rebel issues in Georgia and Chechyna and President Putin’s upcoming trip to the U.S. are of interest. As we watch these world events unfold, we are seeing Russia continue to evolve as a free nation and establish her place in the global community.
