Igor Severyanin — real name Igor Lotarev (1887-1941) was a poet of the Silver Age and a distant relative of Karamzin, Fet and Kollontai. He scandalized Petersburg society with his often unusual poems and attained a cult following with his odd lyrical juxtapositions and declarations designed to shock and awe. He left Russia soon after the revolution and lived out his final years in Tallinn.
