YEVGENY PETROVICH PETROV (born Katayev, 1903-1942) was a famous satirist and humorist, and the brother of the writer Valentin Katayev. After the death of his co-author, Ilya Ilf (see above), he did much to preserve Ilf’s writings and heritage. He died during the Second World War, while working as a war correspondent.
